Once you bite into Danielle's cheddar chive scones, you'll find that the outer layer is as crisp as you'd hope it to be. And I may just be imagining it, but the layer just below almost tastes flaky like a pastry dough. Of course, the middle is soft as a slightly stouter angel's food cake and emanates a pleasantly sweet cheese and chive flavor. Have it with coffee, tea, milk, water, or nothing at all--you won't find that you'll need any type of liquid to wash these down. In fact, do yourself a favor by taking take smaller bites of this scone to savor it, bit by bit--it's that good! Thank you for making these delicious baked good, Danielle--I've finally discovered my forever scones/biscuits! The Everything Biscuits are also outstanding--so much so that I can't decide which I like better. And I haven't yet tried the Rosemary Biscuits or the Blueberry/White Chocolate Scones, but they're next on my list! Plus, if you're lucky, you can also find Danielle's products at more discerning local shops in your nabe!
I had these shipped to me in Los Angeles and they were easy to heat up given the instructions that come with them. My friends and I really loved making some bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches with these biscuits. They are really full of flavor and I can't recommend them enough!
